I can't find either part number ANYWHERE on the actual motherboard itself, and have found VERY few of these in the world for sale using all the popular search engines. Then he tells me that the last number (Part # 6GV70) is what I want to look for, but that the first number will work if I can't find the second one. HERE IS MY PROBLEM- The Dell service guy tells me the part number for my mobo is either: Well, I prefer to get a mobo direct from Dell as long as they are even close to the price in the market, but I do want to check.

I know its proprietary, but that did shock me a tad, and frankly that amount plus tax (plus the hassle factor of having to install it myself) gets me down the road on payment for new system. Second call to Dell and the guy over the phone says its probably the mobo and he can sell me one for $644.00. The machine is basically 3 years old, IF I had gotten the extended warranty, they would have to fix it right? So they must have the mobo's? (This was my thought process anyway) After looking around at some of the different boards, I decided to call back. My first call to Dell, I am told that I can probably find a motherboard "in the marketplace". I am basically down to either MOBO or CPU in my opinion. Tried one more working video card (no change). Friend of mine also checked out the video card, (Nvidia Founders edition GTX 1070) and it worked fine in another machine. As soon as I plugged any of them up in any configuration from 1 stick to 2 stick to all 4 it would do exactly what it did at the beginning.ĥ) I ordered and put in a new power supply (no change).Ħ) Swapped out known working video card.

(THIS WAS THE ONLY STEP THAT GAVE A DIFFERENT RESULT!) When I removed ALL memory from the board I would get the 2 beep code (No Ram detected). (I also put them in an older X51 which uses the same DDR3 memory from Dell and they worked in it.

Steps exhausted with zero change (except #4) I did full power discharge between each step and grounded myself properly -ġ) Cmos battery change/CMOS reset pulling out battery AND doing the jumper as well.ģ) All devices unplugged and putting them back in one at a time.Ĥ) All memory removed and swapped in every configuration. I think I did see one post where the guy was under warranty and Dell came and replaced his mobo and that fixed the issue iirc. Or it was solved using one of the steps that I followed listed below. I did find some posts dealing with the EXACT same issue, but almost EVERY single one, either never returned to post what the answer was.

Since that time I have been through EVERY single step that I could find from Dells and Alienware's website, YouTube, Facebook etc. I also have no power to rear or front USB (even tested simple, non gaming keyboard/mouse with no lights or response), and of course no video output signal. The only change from the above is that the monitor is a 24 inch Asus high refresh rate monitor, instead of the Dell monitor that I had.Ī week ago when I pressed the power button, the lights came on and fans spun up, but I got no POST.
